HB Home Bistro (closed)

A cozy and comfortable neighborhood cafe serving classic bistro dishes using local produce with the familiar flavors of Amsterdam. Portions are large and the prices are right in this warm and lively restaurant. Wednesdays feature a three-course pre-fixed menu. BYOB, no corkage policy.

Mia Francesca

The menu features the zesty, earthy cuisine of Rome and the surrounding Tuscany area. The pasta menu changes seasonally. This sophisticated, yet fun trattoria offers a selection of value focused Italian and American wines and excellent service.

Yoshi's Cafe (CLOSED)

Formerly one of Chicago's most exclusive dining spots, Yoshi's Cafe has adopted a more casual, less-expensive aspect and, patrons say, the food is as good as it ever was. The eclectic menu features dishes that could be loosely described as Japanese, Italian, French and American, and many combine these primary influences, creating a category of their own. Yoshi's is generally regarded as one of the better values in town for haute cuisine.

La Creperie

Casual and cafe style French fare at a moderate price bless this establishment which has been in the same location since 1972.

Coobah (closed)

Latin fusion (think Cuba, Spain, Brazil meets the Philippines) is the theme for a vacation from the usual locale. Chef Jimmy Madla brings the flavor, and exciting music sets the stage for your trip to enjoy some of the hottest cuisine and nightlife that Chicago has to offer.

Fiorentino's (closed)

Dishes derived from hearty rural Italian meals root Fiorentino's in a nostalgic peasant style of cooking but also rather time-honored and traditional dishes, prepared using the freshest garlic, basil, imported plum tomatoes and the finest extra virgin olive oil.

A La Turka (closed)

A La Turka strives to provide the visitor with a cozy, engaging dining experience while delivering some of the finest in Turkish kitchen selections. In addition to normal tables, they have a number of tables with traditional floor cushion seating. To extend your experience, stop by the Hookah Bar on the 2nd floor for an after dinner drink while enjoying hookah. (Since A La Turka was reviewed, it is now Sofra Turkish Kitchen and under new management.)

Southport Grocery and Cafe

A quaint cafe inside a fine food grocery. The cafe serves quality focused, modern comfort food. Great for breakfast or lunch....both served all day long!

Tango Sur

A simple Argentine storefront tucked away at the north end of the hot Southport strip. It's a bonanza for beefeaters on a budget. Friendly service and recorded folk music enhance the experience.

Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club

Divas, who impersonate iconic performers and lip-sync their songs, serenade patrons as they dine on eclectic contemporary American cuisine in a bright interior that is reminiscent of 1950s supper clubs.
