Restaurants Tap into Custom Wine and Beer

Drinking can be a lot more enjoyable with that personal touch. New custom wines and beer are hitting menus at Bread & Wine and Mrs. Murphy & Sons, adding some depth to drink lists.

As the name suggests, wine is a pivotal part of the menu stylings at Irving Park’s Bread & Wine. The wine program will add two new custom bottles, a Bread & Wine red and a Bread & Wine white. The second version of their signature house wines, both hail from California’s central coast and come in bottles emblazoned with new labels. The red is a medium bodied Tempranillo rife with notes of warm spice and dark fruit, while the white is mostly Sauvignon Blanc, with a touch of Semillon.

Beer is paramount at Irish restaurants, and Mrs. Murphy & Sons is going an extra step. Rua is the name of Mrs. Murphy’s new house ale. Translated in Irish as “red,” it’s an Irish red ale infused with fresh ginger developed in partnership with Ale Syndicate. The beer is available exclusively at the restaurant and at Murphy’s Bleachers.
