The year is still young, but L20’s next wine dinner already looks to be the wine dinner of 2014. Oenophiles, get ready to flock to L20 on April 22 for the restaurant’s latest wine spree, a progression of wines from Henri Boillot adjoined by Michelin-starred cuisine from Matt Kirkley.

Burgundy wines take the stage for the event, curated by revered Burgundy wine vet Boillot, who’s flying in from the Côte d’Or for the occasion. The man is responsible for some of Burgundy’s most esteemed 1ers and Grand Crus, many of which are available for sipping throughout the evening. Wines to be poured include the 2012 Dom. Henri Boillot Meursault 1er Cru Les Genevrieres, 2009 Dom. Henri Boillot Volnay 1er Cru Les Fremiets, 2009 Maison Henri Boillot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, 2012 Maison Henri Boillot St. Romain, and 2012 Dom. Henri Boillot Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Mouchere, among several others. Wine lovers know that these wines are more valuable than Beanie Babies at the height of their plush fame in the ’90s, so you’d be wise to take heed.

Rest assured that award-winning chef Kirkley will be pulling out all the stops to assure these wines are dutifully matched with killer plates. Guests will also have the rare (unless you frequently travel to the Côte d’Or and schmooze with vintners) opportunity to meet and speak with Boillot about his wines and the state of Burgundy wine.
