Afternoon Cheese Classes

You already know that cheese is delicious, but if you’d like to expand your knowledge of the food beyond that, you’re in luck. This month Bar Pastoral is launching Afternoon Explorations, a new series of tastings that will teach you about the world of cheese.

First up is Cheeses of the British and Irish Isles, which will be held on Saturday, March 9 at 1:30 pm. The hour-long class includes a pint of beer as well as tastings of a variety of cheeses. If you’re making a St. Patrick’s Day cheese plate – which is way more delicious than green beer – you’ll want to attend to learn about which cheeses you should include. Fromager and Certified Cheese Professional Cristi Menard will teach you about the traditions and terroir of cheeses from that region.

The second class, held March 23 at 1:30 pm, is called Get to Know Your Neighborhood Cheesemonger. Head Cheesemonger Bryan Bland will walk you through a tasting of some of the top and will pair them with drinks.
