Restaurants and Bars Host Christmas Tree Sales
Perusing Christmas trees is much more fun in close proximity to whiskey and Cuban sandwiches. This year, Chicagoans can skip the tree farm and stay closer to home by swinging by one of their favorite restaurants that just so happens to moonlight as a Christmas tree hub.
Big Star continues its annual Christmas tree tradition by stocking up on an abundance of trees. Available through Christmas Eve, Big Star’s inventory includes Fraser Firs as well as garlands, wreathes, and other festive wares. Located right next to Big Star’s to-go window, guests are encouraged to fuel up with guajillo- and cinnamon-spiced hot chocolate, warm apple cider, and sweet corn tamales while they meander around the greenery.
Three Aces is hosting a Holiday Bazaar this weekend on December 15, featuring Christmas trees and all the jolly merriment you could ask for. The festivities take place from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and in addition to the Christmas tree sale, the raucous bar will sling jewelry, clothing and other accoutrements. There will also be a food drive and an ugly sweater contest, because ‘tis the season for that too.
Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like a hulking Cubano sandwich and fried plantains. Get in the tropical spirit by shopping for Christmas trees at 90 Miles Cuban Cafe’s Armitage Avenue location, wherein the sprawling patio is currently transformed into a veritable winter wonderland. For those not bold enough to brave the cold, 90 Miles delivers Christmas trees (and food) right to your door via phone orders based on what size tree you’re looking for.
