Leadbelly Burgers, Portage Park Gem

 Run, don’t walk, run to Portage Park’s newest culinary delight! Leadbelly. MMMMMM burgers! I stopped in late Friday with the mister and enjoyed the Easy Rider, a handmade burger topped with smoked bacon, more bacon, homemade sriracha pickles, cheddar and bourbon BBQ sauce.  The mister devoured the House Of The Rising Sun that comes with bacon, cheddar, a fried egg and Bloody Mary sauce! Uhhhh,  what!?! Yes! If that weren’t good enough Chef/owner Nicole hand makes the buns everyday, no buns-no burgers. Once they’re out so are you, so get them while they’re hot, or you've got to wait until tomorrow!
Lets discuss their fries, yes? There are six different kinds loaded up with all kinds of yummy goodness! From garlic parm to polish sausage, to pico de gallo! One order is definitely enough to share for two. Outstanding! Wash it all down with a craft brew or a spiked shake. I went with the Medicine Man, because you can’t go wrong with chocolate and vodka. It’s a small place, counter service, so take it to go if you have to, limited seats and a counter; they are however going to utilize the sidewalk for outdoor seating weather permitting. Go enjoy the food and the music, it’s a gem! Portage Park is coming up!!
