Ladies Take the Stage

It’s ladies night at Moto Restaurant on September 22, as some of the most esteemed female chefs in the industry join forces for the Friends of James Beard Benefit Dinner. Designed to raise funds for the James Beard Foundation’s scholarship program for supporting women in the culinary field, the event promises to be an evening of culinary delights from some of the country’s best.

Moto’s executive pastry chef Claire Crenshaw serves as host for the event, which starts with a reception and proceeds to a dinner curated by chefs and restaurateurs from near and far. The impressive roster includes Rohini Dey of Vermillion Chicago and New York, Debbie Gold from Kansas City, Stephanie Izard from Chicago’s Girl & the Goat, Anistar Meffert from Crop Bistro and Bar in Cleveland, and Mindy Segal from Chicago’s HotChocolate. Additionally, master sommelier and restaurateur (and former Check, Please! host) Alpana Singh of The Boarding House will be in attendance.
