Bangers and Bottled Sodas at Pleasant House Bakery
There’s always something crafty in the offing at Pleasant House Bakery, the Bridgeport charmer with a British accent. Everyone flocks to the shop for savory pies, but the mighty pleasant bangers are worth noting as well, especially considering the August-long promotion happening now. In other Pleasant news, the shop has taken its popular housemade sodas on tap and bottled them up for convenient consumption at the shop or on the go.
Just when you think you’re all dogged out from National Hot Dog Month (aka July), along comes a sausage sensation at Pleasant House Bakery. Through the rest of August, the shop is featuring Royal Bangers every Wednesday. A crowd favorite from summers past, the banger is back for this month only, a pork sausage made from heritage breed pigs and served on a lobster roll-style brioche bun with housemade mustard and relish and definitely not ketchup. Each week sees a different preparation of said banger, served with a side of hand-cut chips. Royal Bangers are available for take-home as well, sold in packages perfect for home grilling.
You’re going to need a refreshing tipple to go with all that sausage. Now you can pop open a bottle of Pleasant House’s Royal Fizzy Drinks. Housemade ginger soda and hibiscus tea soda have been on-tap staples at the shop, and now there’s a new way to enjoy them in bottled form. Far from the cloyingly sweet sodas most people come to expect, Pleasant House’s sodas are made purely with fresh juice, sans artificial flavors or preservatives. It’s the freshest interpretations of ginger soda or hibiscus you may ever taste.
In other news, diners and drinkers can take their food out into the garden patio, which is now open for tranquil al fresco seating.
