Wow Bao Takes a Bow

This month marks the 10-year anniversary for Wow Bao at Water Tower Place, and along with its sister spots downtown, the fast-casual bao empire has achieved major success over the years. In fact, the company is nearing its 10 millionth bao sold. Wow, that’s a lot of bao. Achievements such as these merit celebration, and that’s just what Wow Bao plans to do this month.

During this week and the week of August 19 through August 23, Wow Bao plays host to a national bao-eating contest. The State and Lake location hosts preliminary rounds each night at 6:00 p.m. Each entrant receives a $10 gift certificate to Wow Bao, and the winner from each preliminary round wins a Wow Bao T-shirt, a bao-tastic lunch for 20, and a chance to vie in the championship.

The championship is to be held on August 28 at 7:00 pm at Wow Bao’s Water Tower Place location. Winners from the preliminary rounds will be chauffeured to the finale via Uber and compete for victory. Each challenger wins a $10 Lettuce Entertain You gift card per bao consumed during the two-minute spree, and the winner earns free Wow Bao for a year.
