’Tis the Season for Cider and Wine
Chicago’s Virtue Cider launched earlier this year, and if you haven’t tried it yet, you’ll be able to have it and three other ciders at a pop-up dinner at Eggy’s on Thursday, October 25 at 6:00 pm. Chef Perry Hendrix and Greg Hall of Virtue Brands Cider (and former Goose Island Brewmaster), have teamed up to offer a cider-paired dinner. It’s a fun change from all the wine dinners around town, and you’ll get to see how versatile cider is with food. The four ciders are Virtue’s Red Streak; Gold Rush, an Oliver’s and Virtue collaboration; and Cidre Bouche and Cuvee Colette. Tickets are $50 and available by emailing [email protected].

Also on Thursday, October 25, you can learn about wine with the Regional Wine Journey program at Lockwood in the Palmer House Hilton. The ongoing series is held monthly, and Thursday’s class focuses on Italian red wines. For $25 per person, you’ll learn about the wines, sample several different pours, and snack on bites from Lockwood’s Sous Chef Valeria Benner, who leads the 7:00 pm classes.
