Say Cheese at Sedgwick’s
One of the most pivotal keystones in American comfort food lore gets a month all to itself with Grilled Cheese Month. That’s right, April is a month-long ode to everyone’s favorite cheese sandwich, a snack rooted in nostalgia and savored on menus throughout Chicago in both classic and novel interpretations. One apt way to make the most of Grilled Cheese Month is by visiting Sedgwick’s Bar and Grill for their "Wiki-cheese-ia" celebration.
Running all month long through April, Wiki-cheese-ia is the end all-be all of grilled cheeses, a special sandwich comprised of three different cheeses (American, Swiss, Gouda), grilled tomatoes, smoked crispy pancetta, and avocado on a pretzel bun. Each sandwich is served with soup, fries, or tater tots, upping the ante on the comfort quotient.
In addition to the cheese-tastic April special, the bar goes all out for National Grilled Cheese Day on April 12 with a little social media engagement. Any customer who posts a photo of themselves eating the Wiki-cheese-ia on April 12 using the hashtag #wikicheeseia on Twitter or Instagram is eligible to win an after-work grilled cheese and cocktail party for 10 people.
