Raising the Bar on Navy Pier Dining
The most visited tourist attraction in the state is about to get a lot more delicious. Long maligned as an overcrowded melee of tourist confusion, Navy Pier is currently undergoing a major re-haul, part of which includes raising the bar on the dining options. And who better to consult with the culinary revamp than one of Chicagoland’s most successful restaurant groups, Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises.
Like Superman flying in to save the day, Lettuce Entertain You has descended on the famed pier with two inaugural concepts for the former South Arcade area. Those are a new location of Big Bowl Chinese Express and Frankie’s Pizza by the Slice, an offshoot of Frankie’s 5th Floor Pizzeria at the 900 Shops. At long last, the millions upon millions of visitors at the pier each year will now have some new dining options while they ooh and awe at the Ferris Wheel and the skyline.
These two outlets anchor a new surge in elevated quick service dining at the pier, aggregated in a communal dining area with expansive views of the waterfront and city. Diners can expect Neapolitan-inspired pizza with an American twist from Frankie’s, served by the slice or the individual pan pizza. Big Bowl, meanwhile, peddles its well-known Thai and Chinese dishes.
New restaurants at Navy Pier are due this month.
