In restaurant news this week, a Wicker Park restaurant has launched a new lunch menu, a long-awaited West Loop eatery opened, and a cocktail lounge is throwing a “funky” wine tasting.

Carriage House is now offering its Lowcountry cuisine for lunch. Served Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, the menu features some new items and old favorites, including shrimp and grits, grilled asparagus salad, an oyster roast, and a smoked garlic bologna sandwich with pickles and pimento cheese.

Former Saigon Sisters chef Matt Eversman has finally opened the doors to Oon, his restaurant in the West Loop. The menu features Southeast Asian cuisine with French influences, and you’ll find a mix of small and large plates, desserts, and sides. Dishes include foie pho, grilled short ribs, a rack of lamb, and chilled udon.

On Tuesday, head to Double A at 7:00 pm for Tippling Tuesday. The monthly event features a rotating offering of spirits, and this month’s installment pairs funk music with natural wines grown without intervention from the winemaker.
