New Openings
Two former food truck chefs have teamed up to open Saucy Porka, an Asian-Latin fusion cafe. Run by Amy Le of Duck ‘n Roll and Rafael Lopez of Wagyu Wagon, the new restaurant features dishes like chorizo egg rolls, bao tacos stuffed with ginger tofu or miso-braised short ribs, and rice bowls. Saucy Porka will also feature breakfast, so stop in for cinnamon doughnut holes and chorizo banh mi.
Parson’s Chicken and Fish just opened in Humboldt Park, and the restaurant has fried chicken and hush puppies, frozen negronis, and a huge patio. It opens daily at 4 pm and while you can’t order food on the patio yet, put your name in and sip a cocktail while you wait for a table.
DryHop Brewers will be opening on June 13 at 5 pm. The Lakeview brewery has been making collaborative beers with other breweries around town, but they’ve finally put the finishing touches on their own space. You can stop by Saturday, June 8 from 1 to 3 pm to buy and fill growlers, but the official opening isn’t until the 13th. June 14 marks the first day of full lunch and dinner service.
