When a world-renowned chef hosts a book tour for something titled Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef, there’s really no better restaurant to celebrate than Balena. Said chef is Massimo Bottura of Three Michelin-starred restaurant Osteria Francescana in Modena, Italy, and he’ll be coming through Chicago on his international book tour on October 15.

Inspired by the months spend pouring over Never Trust a Skinny Italian Chef, Chris Pandel is set to cook a special multi-course dinner with Bottura serving as a special guest. Considering Bottura’s penchant for crafting refined Italian cuisine influenced by contemporary art, it’s safe to assume that Balena’s menu for the evening will be nothing short of exquisite. Diners partaking in Pandel’s degustation will have the opportunity to meet and greet with Bottura as well, plus they’ll receive personalized copies of his cookbook and food menus from the evening.
