Lindt and Ghirardelli Sweeten Up Chicago

Ghirardelli

Two of the country’s most revered names in chocolate have expanded in Chicago in bold new ways, as Ghirardelli opens its largest store in the world on Michigan Avenue and Lindt launched a chocolate drinks bar at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont.

San Francisco-based Ghirardelli has been big in Chicago for years, thanks to its flagship Midwest location atop the Magnificent Mile. The store has long been a popular stopover for ice cream fixtures in the summer and hot chocolate in the winter, not to mention the dizzying array of chocolates lining the shelves. Now Ghirardelli has successfully bookended Michigan Avenue’s Mag Mile with a new, larger outpost at the southern end of the retail strip in the historic Wrigley Building. The new shop marks the largest Ghirardelli store in the world, spread over two floors and an enormous patio. Ghirardelli’s chocolates come in all shapes, sizes, and flavors, along with a full menu of ice cream, milkshakes, cookies, brownies, waffle cones, and more. The second floor stretches back into the building, offering impressive views overlooking the Chicago River and Michigan Avenue.

Another world-renowned chocolate brand, Lindt, has broadened its local appeal with a drinks bar in Rosemont. The company’s first ever standalone drinks bar at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, dubbed the Lindt Chocolate Bar, features both hot and iced chocolate drinks and coffee, along with a chocolate dipping station. Here, you can get interactive with chocolate-dipped strawberries and other provisions. The bar is located directly across from the outlets’ Lindt Chocolate Shop.
