It’s Burger Month!
Whether you like thin, griddled patties, thick beefy burgers, or light veggie burgers, it isn’t hard to find a great burger in Chicago. May is National Burger Month, and that means restaurants all over the city are offering special patties and deals to encourage you to step outside your burger comfort zone and try something new.
Weber Grill, which has locations in Chicago, Schaumburg, and Lombard, will be offering a special featured burger each day. Sunday is the huevos rancheros burger, Monday is the crimini mushroom and Portobello burger, Tuesday is the patty melt, Wednesday is the salmon BLT burger, Thursday is the chicken parmesan burger, Friday is the BBQ rib burger, and Saturday is the Kobe burger. The Schaumburg location will offer a hands-on burger class on May 23 from 6-8 pm so you can learn some tricks to elevate your burger game at home.
Head to Chicago Cut Steakhouse for a special on their 12-ounce burger, made with 100-percent USDA Prime, dry-aged rib eye and sirloin. The burger is served on brioche with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, and pickles.
Lottie’s Pub will offer a special on its Chicago Fire burger, made with jalapeno-infused ground Angus beef and topped with diced jalapenos and pepper jack cheese. It comes served with chipotle aioli and a side of fries.
Sustainably-focused Prasino celebrates burger month with a special turkey burger, which comes topped with bleu cheese, caramelized onions, sautéed apples, and spinach, and is served on a multigrain bun.
Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap has a new special for the month – the PB&B Burge – made with Sriracha peanut butter and house-smoked maple bacon.
25 Degrees, the burger joint renowned for its boozy milkshakes, is bringing back a limited edition BBQ Brisket Burger, made with BBQ brisket, a sirloin patty, cheese, crispy fried onions, pickles, arugula, and pineapple BBQ sauce. A percentage of proceeds from the burger will be donated to the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
Franklin Tap will be switching up their burger menu each week during May. Until May 4, head in for the Moroccan lamb burger. The Wagyu burger is available May 6-11, the chipotle bison burger is available May 13-18, the peppercorn venison burger is available May 20-25, and the Santa Fe wild boar burger is available May 27-June 1.
