Charc Attack!

TETE Charcuterie

Alert the lifeguards, because there’s a charc attack underway. Actually, it’s an entire Charc Week, which is a lot more delicious than its razor-toothed homonym, and it takes place in February as a way to showcase Chicago’s proclivity for fine cured meats, as hosted by Mortar + Pestle Events.

Chicago’s top meat Meccas, including The Butcher & Larder and TETE Charcuterie, are poised to highlight their cured meats for one week from February 23 through February 27 with special Charc Week menus. It all begins with a Charc Bites cocktail party at The Dawson on February 22, wherein each restaurant participant will serve their signature charcuterie items, adjoined by beverage pairings like a Salumi Back, a spirit and salami collaboration between CH Distillery and West Loop Salumi, and the Sliced Nectarine IPA from Moody Tongue Brewery.

The rest of the Charc Week participants include The Dawson, La Sardine, Perennial Virant, The Radler, Table, Donkey and Stick, West Loop Salumi, and Chop Shop. Expect special charcuterie menu items during Charc Week at each venue, e.g. CH Bourbon jerky at West Loop Salumi. All spots will then reconvene on February 26 for the Charc Week Party, a unique opportunity to sample all the charcuterie from the restaurants and sip cocktails by the fireplace.

If this is a charc attack, I don’t want to be saved.
