Beer- and Baseball-inspired Burgers

Not that there’s ever a bad time for a burger, but spring and summer seem particularly apt, given the burger’s natural proclivity for cookouts and grilled food. As the weather warms and the sun shines, let’s turn our attention to a couple notable burgers popping up around town.

Burgers and beer go together like macaroni and cheese, which is what makes the new burger collaboration at Graham Elliot Bistro such a sensation. Baderbrau Brewing Company partnered with the West Loop restaurant for the special “Grahamburger.” Designed by Graham Elliot himself, the burger contains beef short rib, Taleggio fondue, crispy onions, and housemade pickles on a garlic buttered brioche bun. What makes it extra special, though, is the beer pairing designed to come with it, the hoppy Baderbrau Pilsener. Together, the burger-beer combo is available at the restaurant through May 31.

In tune with baseball season, III Forks has released its new Dunn Burger, a special creation inspired by Chicago White Sox first baseman and III Forks patron, Adam Dunn. Executive chef Billy Caruso added it to the restaurant’s Bar Bites menu, made with Angus beef, five-year Hooks Wisconsin sharp cheddar, Raisin River slab bacon, and a side of fries. Guests can also opt to add a fried egg and/or seared foie gras if they’re feeling decadent.
