BBQ Boom

It seems like every week we’re hearing about a new BBQ joint in town. Here are the three latest to show up on our radar.

County Barbecue, which is from DMK Restaurants’ Michael Kornick and David Morton, opened last week on Taylor Street in Little Italy. The menu features BBQ from different regions, including Texas brisket, St. Louis ribs, and Chicago rib tips. Plus, there’s a whole section of the menu devoted to bacon, sandwiches, a beer and whiskey list, and candy bar sundaes.

Pearl’s Southern Comfort BBQ will be opening next year at 5352 N. Broadway. As the name suggests, the menu will be loaded with comfort food fare – plates of BBQ, burgers, and tacos, plus mac and cheese and pie.

Bridgeport will also be getting a BBQ joint, when RaeAnne’s Breakfast & BBQ, a 24-hour breakfast and barbecue spot, opens this fall. The menu will feature meats smoked in house and sausage. The signature dish will be pulled pork breakfast fries, fries topped with sausage gravy, crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese, pulled pork, and a fried egg.
