Bars Shake Up New Guest Bartender Series
Nothing shakes up a good cocktail like a little camaraderie. The Barrelhouse Flat and CH Distillery are both rolling out new guest bartender programs over the next few months to help showcase local talent and give customers something unique to sip.
The Barrelhouse Flat’s new Bartender with Benefits series is underway, serving as an industry mixer of sorts with a bit of charitable altruism thrown in for good measure. The series welcomes various bartenders into the bar to play host for a specific night and craft drinks for designated charities. Each guest bartender will work with owner Stephen Cole to craft three cocktails, with a portion of proceeds benefitting each guest bartender’s charity of choice. The roster for the coming months includes Brian Sturgulewski of Fulton Market Kitchen in March, Paul Sauter of Mercadito Hospitality in April, Alex Renshaw of Presidio in May, and Griffin Benko of The Terrace at Trump in June.
At CH Distillery, they’ve got a guest bartender series of their own. The second Tuesday of every month finds a different bartender behind the stick shaking up two cocktails for an evening. One drink will feature CH spirits, while another is open to anything the bartender feels like working with. It started off this month with Graham Elliot Bistro’s Patric Gerstmayr, with world-renowned mixolgosit Charles Joly taking the reins in March. The series continues with Matty Colston of Parachute in April, Alex Renshaw of Presidio in May, Tommy Lansaw of Wood in June, and Eden Laurin of The Violet Hour and Robby Haynes of Analogue in August.
