Duck n’ Roll (closed)

Chicago, IL
Premiered 10/12/2012

Stop, don’t drop, but definitely roll into this Asian inspired food truck, DucknRoll! With inspiration found in the Vietnamese Banh mi sandwich, DucknRoll combines contemporary flavors from China, Korea, Japan, and Thailand.

Co-owner Amy Le began her culinary career in Chicago studying under Bing Zhou, owner of Chen’s and Koi Chinese & Sushi. Le refers to the truck as a moving tribute to her mother who immigrated to the United States as a Vietnamese refugee. Using family recipes, combined with co-owner Zhou’s extensive knowledge and experience, this truck has mastered the art of Asian cuisine.

Not only does this truck feature incredible sandwiches, but their Duck Gumbo is a must. They think outside of the box with items like the Mango Lychee Salsa and Wonton Chips and the Azuki Bean Cinnamon Donuts (donut holes stuffed with sweetened red bean paste and rolled in cinnamon and brown sugar).

This is not just a duck truck on wheels. Duck is a symbol of good luck in the Asian culture, and DucknRoll hopes to share good fortune with Chicago though their delicious street feasts
