Bell’s Tap Takeover Featuring Hopslam, Le Pianiste and Milchkaffee

Oyster Fest at Tribes Beer Company in Mokena

Fresh oysters are flown in from the east and west coasts each day. Throughout the event, a raw bar is set up and guests can choose their oysters (between $2.25 -3.25 a piece depending on the variety, available ala carte, no minimum or maximum) and have their order zip-lined to be shucked on the spot by the Tribes crew. In addition to oysters, gigantic shrimp, crab legs Rockefeller and Casino and more will be available. Seafood chowder, baked oyster bruschetta and more specials will also be on the Tribes menu.

Hosted by BevArt and Executive Chef Sean Patrick Curry, at the Valentine’s Crush, Each couple will make their own 6-gallon vat of wine (25 to 30 bottles). Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir to Merlot can be made. Wine will be fermented at Bev Art/ Wild Blossom Winery cellar and monitored by our winemakers. Hands-On Baking Class: I Did it for the Cookie

This cooking class at Suzette's L'Ecole focuses on Provence, which has the most diverse cuisine of all the French regions.  This class menu includes Chicken Tagine with Couscous, Sweet Potatoes and Prunes, a composed Mediterrean Salad and the most fragrant Lemon Meringue Tart.  Wines from Provence will be enjoyed throughout the class.

The menu features: Three Sisters Garden Oatmeal Cake with Maple Creek Farm Bacon and Burton Maple Syrup, Heirloom Squash Soup served with Popcorn, and Pulled Pork Sandwich with Apple, Turnip, and Winter Radish Slaw. Desserts include: Sarah's Mom's Pecan or Pumpkin Pie.

Chicago Food Swap

Food swaps bring together passionate home cooks, bakers, canners, gardeners and foragers to trade their homemade and homegrown edible goods.  All participants must be individuals trading goods that they grew or made themselves.  Some examples of popular items include jams, pickles, salsa, baked goods, or herbs.  Participants can bring samples for tasting.  All items are swapped one for one and no money is exchanged.
Registration is $5 with proceeds going to the Peterson Garden Project.

Food Fight for Scleroderma

Jason Paskewitz (The Blanchard), Nathan Sears (The Radler) and Lamar Moore (Hotel Chicago) will face-off in a friendly cooking competition in the name of a great cause. Each chef will present a dish to the audience of food-lovers as well as a panel of judges. Guests will vote for their favorite dish of the night and judges will score based on taste, creativity and presentation. Scores from both groups are combined and a winning chef is announced at the end of the evening.  Amanda Puck (host of Check, Please! 2001 and 2002) will emcee the event.
