Everything about this truck is more than pleasant. The pies are delicious and owners Art and Chelsea Jackson are delightful.
Art Jackson, formally the chef of Bijan’s Bistro and current teacher at the Chicago Showroom for Bulthaup, shares the Pleasant House Bakery with his wife, writer/editor Chelsea, who is the truck’s pastry chef. While the Pleasant House truck may be small in stature, it has made a big impact on the Chicago street food scene.
These savory royal pies will leave your mouth watering and wanting more. Using the highest quality of ingredients, most of which are grown on their own Pleasant Farm, menu items range from Steak and Ale Pie (all natural beef, ale, carrots, and herbs) to the Mushroom and Kale Pie (assorted mushrooms, kale, scallions, white wine, herbs, and parmesan).
Do yourself a favor and track down this truck. As their name proudly states, this bakery is beyond “pleasant.”
