Raise a Glass to French Wine Week

In honor of French Wine Week September 23 through September 30, Hotel Sofitel Chicago Water Tower has amassed a lineup of events sure to entice any oenophile. The week-long wine affair derives inspiration from the new Sofitel Wine Program touting Coup de Coeur wines chosen by French wine authorities Bettane & Desseauve.

Wine aficionado Steve Tauschman of Southern Wine & Spirits makes a cameo at Le Bar on September 24 for a special Coup de Coeur wine tasting. A selection of three mini wine flights will be on hand all evening long, each one paired with cheeses.

The next installment of Cafe des Architectes’ Les Amis du Chef dining series takes place on September 26. Chef Greg Biggers and pastry chef Leigh Omilinsky once again host Tauschman to present a five-course degustation with a French wine focus. Taking place at two communal tables, the dinner features storytelling, where guests are encouraged to chime in and participate.

All week long, Cafe des Architectes will gear its five- and ten-course dinner menus specifically to compliment Coup de Coeur wines. As guests sit down to dine, they’ll be presented with a list of wines, while food pairings are kept a surprise. Additionally, Le Bar and Café des Architectes will feature specials on Coup de Coeur wine flights and glass pours throughout French Wine Week.
