Jahan is an executive assistant who enjoys savory comfort food. Jahan will drink a suggested complimentary wine with her meal but otherwise she chooses water or tea. She is also willing to drive pretty far for quality food; sometimes she takes the two hour trip to Lake Geneva to get a great meal. She thinks that the food is what eating out is all about. She says great food can come from the scariest looking restaurant.

I love the idea of the perfect meal but the problem is you shouldn’t mix certain foods together. For example, I love fried calamari but you wouldn’t want to mix that with super cheesy enchiladas. I could probably write about four different “perfect meals” but at the moment I will choose one.  I would start of the meal with white wine sangria from Pirro’s located in Woodstock, IL. For five dollars you are served a goblet of delicious chardonnay white wine that is light and refreshing. I am assuming that I would have endless stomach space so I would want to order French Onion soup from Monterra Steakhouse located in Algonquin, IL. They serve the French Onion soup in an onion and it taste incredible. Its easily not only a pleasing to the eye, the soup is not greasy and weighed down with too much croutons and cheese. It is prepared with the right amount of add- ons as you would need. My salad choice would be the house salad with extra house dressing from Bone Fish Grill in Skokie, IL.  The homemade vinaigrette is citrusy and sweet, so much so as I write this my mouth is watering. A fresh bed of leaves and pine nuts severed in a chilled bowl, it is a clean tasting delicious salad.

My starter would be bacon wrapped dates from HB (Home Bistro) located in the Boystown neighborhood of Chicago. Bacon wrapped dates might confuse you but its blissful heaven. Coming from a former practicing Muslim, I love the flavor combination of the date (an item scared to Islam to break Ramadan fast with) matching so well with the worst sinful food of Islam, bacon. Ironically sinful and delicious! Now on to my main course, it is a bit of a doozy so good luck keeping up. I would start with a sixteen ounce Schula’s cut New York Strip steak from Schula’s Steakhouse, with a lobster tail served with warm butter from Devon’s Seafood & Grill. My sides would include Chicago Chopped House’s creamed spinach and Keefers Steakhouse’s garlic mashed potatoes. All restaurants are within a mile of each other located in Chicago. I would say the main course is completely possible to attain. Let’s say somehow I still had room for dessert I would love a glass of Moscato dessert wine from the TheWit’s Rooftop Bar and Noon O Kabob’s saffron ice cream.

So would I be satisfied with meal? Absolutely, everything I listed is an item that I love and always make sure I have when I am at any of the above establishments. So here concludes “Perfect Meal” one, and for fun I am going to create a few more “Perfect Meal” Menu’s . Hey, a girl can dream right?
