Make Foodie Friends at Tuesday Night Dinner

Tuesday Night Dinner

While it’s fun to go out to dinner with your friends, sometimes it’s even more fun to go out to dinner and make new ones. Pop-up supper club Tuesday Night Dinner is hosting the next installment of its popular communal dinner series next Tuesday, January 29 at No Sandbox Studio.

The winter series, dubbed Off the Boat, Into the Kitchen, draws inspiration from Chicago’s culinary history. Chef Jeremy Leven sources ingredients from ethnic markets and specialty suppliers to make dishes that are global with a Chicago twist. The meal starts off with a jibarito (a sandwich that uses plantains in lieu of bread) amuse bouche, and includes a Hen of the Woods Vesuvio, 'Czech me out' boar loin, Devon St. tacos, and lavender and candied ginger 'Flan-ton.' Dishes are served communally, so you can learn about your neighbor as you ask them to pass the platter of tacos. There will also be beer from Strange Pelican Brewery, a local brewery.

Besides the delicious dishes, what makes Tuesday Night Dinner special is the emphasis placed on community – there will also be art and live music, which can inspire conversation and introduce you to some local artists.
