Back to Basics

Check, Please! is in full swing with our first regular show of the season. In keeping with our tradition of presenting an eclectic mix of restaurants, this week’s reviewers take us on a culinary excursion to a sleek seafood eatery, a pork-lovers BBQ delight, and a family-run, Mediterranean inspired restaurant.

If you like seafood, guest reviewer Andie Thomalla says the place to go is GT Fish & Oyster. The menu is an ever-changing selection of seasonal seafood delights, presented in small-plate style. Guest reviewer Mark Collins was incredibly impressed with his meal…you’ll have to watch to hear his exuberant review.

Mark took on a journey to Midlothian, to his favorite BBQ joint. Hog Wild is quite simply a pork-lovers dream and the pork chops are the shining star! All of our guests were pleasantly surprised by how tender and succulent a pork chop could be. Simple classic eats can certainly be as exciting as the finest cuisine when it’s done right.

Finally, guest reviewer Mary Monica Thomas introduces us to Andies, a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant with bold flavors that are not only Lebanese and Tunisian, but also Greek, Italian, and Indian. Mark’s taste buds must have been on holiday the day he visited Andies but women both thought the dishes were incredibly flavorful, fresh, and delicious. Vegans and vegetarians, take note, MaryMonica and her Zumba friends were heartily impressed by the healthy, meat-less options this family run restaurant had to offer.

Join us again next week for another eclectic mix of restaurant selections and let us know your very own “distinctive” reviews!

Enjoy!
