My most memorable experience at a restaurant in Chicago was dining at Alinea to celebrate my husband's recovery from tongue cancer. Chef Achatz signed our copy of his book and the food and service were outstanding. Our visit happened to be in the fall when the menu featured a dish accompanied by burning oak leaves, just one example of how a meal at Alinea is a multi-sensory experience.
