One of the best parts about living in Chicago is our close proximity to so many great farms and food producers. We can find fresh cheeses, jams, inventive beers, charcuterie, and much more, all of which is made in our backyard. Meet some of these producers on Saturday, April 27 at the Chicago French Market during Pastoral's Artisan Producer Festival.

The free event, which runs from 11 am-3 pm, allows you to taste your way through dozens of products and see demonstrations from different vendors. The list of attendees is basically a wish list of every product you’d want in your fridge and pantry. For cheeses, there will be products from Michigan’s Zingerman’s Creamery, Indiana’s Capriole Goat Cheese, and Wisconsin’s Uplands Cheese Co., and you can sip your way through brews from Five Rabbit, Half Acre, and Uncle John’s Cider.

There will also be wines, candy from Katherine Anne Confections and Salted Caramel, charcuterie from Smoking Goose Meatery, and accompaniments like crackers and pickles from Quince and Apple Small Batch Preserves, Stu’s Sour Pickles, and Effie’s Homemade crackers.

Go early and hungry!
